Abstract

  • In September 2024, the level of inequality in expenditure of the population of Southeast Sulawesi as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.365. This figure decreased by 0.005 points compared to March 2024 which was 0.370 and decreased by 0.006 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.371.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.374, down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024 which was 0.392 and the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.393.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.337, up compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024 which was 0.330 and down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.338.
  • Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent group is 18.10 percent. This means that population expenditure in September 2024 is in the low inequality category. If detailed by region, in urban areas it is recorded at 17.42 percent as well as in rural areas which are recorded at 19.36 percent. This means that, both in urban and rural areas, the level of inequality is in the low category.
