Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
  • Southeast Sulawesi's Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in May 2024 fell 2.12 percent from 116.66 to 114.18. This decrease in NTP was caused by the price index received by farmers (It) falling by 2.32 percent, lower than the decrease in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) of 0.20 percent.
  • The NTP for each subsector is recorded as follows: Food Crops Subsector (NTPP) 96.51; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 117.43; People's Plantation Plantation Subsector (NTPR) 129.40; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 107.00 and Fisheries Subsector (NTNP) 98.26. Meanwhile, the National NTP Index was 116.71 or decreased by 0.06 percent from the previous month's 116.79.
  •  In May 2024, there was a decrease in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Southeast Sulawesi by 0.25 percent, one of the causes of which was dominated by a decrease in the index value in the food, beverage and tobacco expenditure group.
