Kendari City inflation in June 2019 was recorded at 2.55 percent

Abstract

  • Kendari City inflation in June 2019 was recorded at 2.55 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 135.35. Nationally, from 82 cities that calculated inflation, 76 cities recorded inflation and 6 cities recorded deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Manado (North Sulawesi Province) 3.60 percent with CPI 140.02 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Singaraja (Bali Province) 0.02 percent with CPI 144.11.
  • Inflation in Kendari City was caused by an increase in the price index in the foodstuffs group by 9.80 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.60 percent; clothing group 0.52 percent; health group 0.40 percent; education, recreation and sports group 0.07 percent; and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.02 percent. While the transportation, communication and financial services group experienced a decline in index by 0.49 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation are fly / spin, spinach, skipjack / scales, bloating / bloating / banyar / gembolo / aso-aso, kangkung, rambe, anchovies, yellow tail, long beans and green mustard greens.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation are air transportation, garlic, taxi fares, live chickens, lime / limes, beef, coconut, race chicken, sweetened condensed milk and chicken meat.
  • Of the eleven cities on Sulawesi Island, all cities recorded inflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Manado (North Sulawesi Province) 3.60 percent with CPI 140.02 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Makassar (South Sulawesi Province) of 0.05 percent with CPI of 139.38.
  • The inflation rate of Kendari City in the calendar year (January-June 2019) is 5.35 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2019 to June 2018) is 4.49 percent.
  • The inflation rate for the same period in June 2018 was recorded at 2.01 percent, calendar year (January-June 2018) of 3.40 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate for June 2018 against June 2017 was recorded at 1.07 percent.
