  • Kendari City inflation in January 2019 was recorded at 0.65 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 129.32. Nationally, from 82 cities that calculated inflation, 73 cities recorded inflation and 9 cities recorded deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan (Bangka Belitung Province) 1.23 percent with CPI of 145.12 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Pematang Siantar (North Sumatra Province) 0.01 percent with CPI of 139.10.
  • Inflation in Kendari City was caused by the price index increase in the foodstuffs group 1.77 percent; clothing 0.67 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.57 percent; education, recreation, and sports 0.47 percent; Health 0.35 percent; and processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups 0.31 percent. The group that experienced deflation was the transportation, communication and financial services group 0.25 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation are spinach, vegetable tomatoes, shallots, guest chair tables, gold jewelery, tomato fruit, kite / hump, yellow tail, rambe, and wardrobe.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation are gasoline, air transportation, songs, long eggplants, cassava leaves, cayenne pepper, women's blouses, kale, men's collared shirts, and ceramics.
