Kendari City Inflation in June of 2018, recorded at 2.01 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 129.54. Nationally from 82 cities that count all inflation

Inflation occurring in the city of Kendari was recorded as a result of the rising price index in the foodstuff category by 5.64 percent; transportation, communications and financial services 2.59 percent; clothing 0.29 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.14 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.11 percent and education, recreation and sports 0.06 percent. While the group recorded deflation is the health group 0.35 percent.

Commodities contributing to the largest inflation are air transport; skipjack / scales; kite / bengkol; bloating / banyar / gembolo / aso-aso; spinach; long eggplant; Kale; rambe; yellow tail and anchovies.

Commodities contributing to deflation are rice; shampoo; biscuits; red chili pepper; Cayenne pepper; Apple; red onion; milkfish / sponge; wine and soap powder / liquid detergent.

Of the eleven cities on the island of Sulawesi, all recorded inflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi Province) 2.01 percent with CPI of 129.54. The lowest inflation was recorded in Gorontalo (Gorontalo Province) 0.37 percent with CPI of 128.51.

The inflation rate of Kendari City in the calendar year (January-June 2018) is 3.40 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2018 to June 2017) is 1.07 percent.

The inflation rate for the same period of calendar year (January-June 2017) was 5.33 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate was 6.17.
