· Kendari Inflation in May of 2018, recorded at 0.96 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 126.99. Nationally from 82 cities counting inflation sixty-five cities recorded inflation and seventeen cities recorded deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Tual (Maluku Province) at 1.88 percent and the lowest inflation recorded in Purwokerto (Central Java Province) and Tangerang (Province of Banten) was 0.01 percent. The highest deflation was recorded in Pangkal Pinang (Province of Bangka Belitung Islands) 0.99 percent.

· Inflation occurring in Kendari was recorded as a result of the rising price index in the foodstuff category by 3.93 percent; health 0.27 percent; clothing 0.20 percent and finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.01 percent respectively. While the group recorded deflation ie transportation, communication and financial services 0.32 percent. While the education, recreation, and sports groups have not changed / relatively stable.

· Commodities contributing to the largest inflation are bloating / banyar / gembolo / aso-aso; skipjack / scales; kite / bengkol; milkfish / sponge; rambe; tail
