The poverty rate is a number that is prima donna for BPS data users. This poverty data is obtained from the results of a national socio-economic survey or commonly called SUSENAS.
The series of SUSENAS activities to get the poverty rate is not simple.
To obtain accurate data quality, BPS prepared all stages of data collection in great detail.
Starting from strengthening the methodology, training officers, household updates, data collection, supervision, inspection, data processing and many other stages.
One of the most important stages is updating the Price Range (RH) and Commodity Unit Conversion.
This RH update and Commodity Unit Conversion is carried out to obtain market prices for various commodities consumed by the public.
RH updates are done by visiting markets and directly recording the prices of these commodities. So the price used to calculate expenditure becomes more uptudate. In addition to the market, food stalls and grocery stalls are also visited, so the types of commodities obtained are more diverse.
Commodity conversion itself is an adjustment of commodity units, from local units to standard units. For example if the community used to buy vegetables per bundle, then this bonding unit would be converted into a standard unit, Kg. And this conversion improvement is done by directly weighing the commodity in the field.
This is all done as an effort so that the calculation of calories and public expenditure to meet their daily needs can be recorded more accurately.
RH update and unit conversion This commodity has been completed. And this September, BPS will again conduct SUSENAS data collection. For those of you who are selected as respondents, accept our officers well and provide real information.
Thus indirectly you have contributed to the development of the nation
