Integrated Food Plant Crop Statistics Training with KSA Method 2018

The Central Bureau of Statistics of Southeast Sulawesi Province conducts training activities of Integrated Food Crop Statistic Data Collection Officer with 2018 Sampling Area (KSA) method conducted on 17-19 January 2018. The training was attended by candidates from 17 districts / cities representatives and conducted in 2 place simultaneously that is in hotel Plaza Kubra and Hotel Zenith Kendari.

This training activity is a continuation of the study and improvement of land area calculation method which has been using the eye estimate method to estimate the land and harvest area. Through this training activity officers are taught how to operate KSA applications based on android that is with theory and practice in direct field.

Theoretically, the officer explained about the urgency to do with the seriousness and uphold the concepts, definitions, and procedures of field implementation in conducting groundcheck and taking pictures of the growing phase of food crops (especially rice). The application installation procedure until the groundcheck result is explained in detail by the local instructor.

In this training, the field practice is done directly by visiting the rice field targets and taking pictures of plant growth phase directly. It is expected that officers will be more understanding and able to practice the theory given by instructors in the classroom and can carry out the task of data collection of Food Crops with this KSA method well.

It is expected that with this training, Integrated Food Crop Statistic Officer with KSA 2018 Method officer can carry out data collection well, in accordance with the procedures, SOP, and the deadline. So that the creation of data and information on grain / rice production is accurate, precise and fast as the basis of government policy making in the agricultural sector and food security.
