Abstract

  • The Gender Inequality Index (IKG) in Southeast Sulawesi in 2023 was 0.491, an increase of 0.001 points compared to 2022 which was 0.490.2.
  • Gender equality increased slightly, marked by an increase in the Gender Inequality Index (IKG), which was mainly influenced by a decrease in the reproductive health dimension and empowerment dimension.
  • The decline in the reproductive health dimension is influenced by the increase in the indicator for the proportion of ever-married women aged 15-49 years who at the time of giving birth to their first live child were less than 2 years old without health facilities, which rose from 17.2 percent in 2022 to 17.6 percent in 2023.
  •  The decline in the empowerment dimension is influenced by the percentage of the female population 25 years and over with a minimum of high school education which fell from 38.11 percent in 2022 to 37.90 percent in 2023.
