Abstract

  • The Southeast Sulawesi NTP index in August 2018 was recorded at 95.29 or an increase of 0.51 percent compared to the previous month which was recorded at 94.80. The FTT index for each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crop Subsector (NTPP) 87.29; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 95.32; People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTPR) 87.24; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 108.21; and Fisheries Subsector (NTNP) 117.64. While the National FTT Index was 102.56 or increased by 0.89 percent from the previous 101.66.
  • In August 2018, nationally there were 22 provinces experiencing an increase in the NTP Index, 1 province did not experience a change in the index, namely North Sumatra Province, and 10 other provinces experienced a decline. The highest increase was recorded in East Java Province at 2.40 percent, while the largest decrease was recorded in Riau Province at 1.25 percent.
  • In August 2018 the Province of Southeast Sulawesi recorded rural deflation of 0.66 percent. This was due to a significant decline in the price index in the foodstuffs group, which amounted to 1.59 percent despite an increase in other groups, namely the housing group by 0.22 percent; clothing group 0.32 percent; health group 0.25 percent; education, recreation and sports groups by 0.03 percent; and the transportation and communication group 0.02 percent. While the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups did not show any changes in the index.
