Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed or for production costs.
The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) of Southeast Sulawesi in July 2024 fell by 1.39 percent from 117.59 to 115.96. This decrease in NTP was due to the price index received by farmers (It) falling by 1.68 percent, deeper than the decrease in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) of 0.29 percent.
The NTP of each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crops Subsector (NTPP) 95.92; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 113.73; Smallholder Plantation Crops Subsector (NTPR) 134.19; The Livestock Subsector (NTPT) was 106.48 and the Fisheries Subsector (NTNP) was 98.80. Meanwhile, the National NTP Index was 119.61 or an increase of 0.70 percent from the previous month of 118.77. In July 2024, there was a decrease in the Household
Consumption Index (IKRT) in Southeast Sulawesi by 0.36 percent, one of the causes of which was dominated by a decrease in the index value in the food, beverage, and tobacco expenditure group.
