January 2024, Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in Southeast Sulawesi Province will be 2.46 percent

Abstract

In January 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Southeast Sulawesi Province was 2.46 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.42. The highest inflation occurred in Baubau City at 3.88 percent with a CPI of 106.33 and the lowest occurred in Kendari City at 1.92 percent with a CPI of 104.73.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 5.11 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.39 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.92 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.99 percent; health group by 0.40 percent; transportation group by 2.13 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.25 percent; education group at 3.27 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.76 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.53 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.59 percent.

Month to month (m-to-m) deflation and year to date (y-to-d) deflation in Southeast Sulawesi Province in January 2024 were 0.03 percent each.
