January 2023 exports reached US$369.37 million and January 2023 imports valued at US$249.26 million

Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi with all the natural resource potential has opportunities in foreign trade which is reflected in export statistics. Export Statistics Data is obtained from Goods Export Notification Documents (PEB) from Customs and Excise. Commodities that have been the mainstay of Southeast Sulawesi include iron and steel and various marine products, while export destination countries are spread across the continents of Asia, Australia to America.
Southeast Sulawesi's export value in January 2023 reached US$369.37 million, down 26.63 percent compared to December 2022 exports which were recorded at US$503.42 million. Meanwhile, the export volume in January 2023 was recorded at 164.62 thousand tons, a decrease of 24.89 percent compared to the export volume in December 2022 which was recorded at 219.18 thousand tons.
Southeast Sulawesi's import value in January 2023 reached US$249.26 million, an increase of 124.85 percent compared to December 2022 or an increase of 23.28 percent compared to January 2022.
The January 2023 import volume was valued at 653.22 thousand tons, up 194.311 percent compared to December 2022 or an increase of 88.64 percent compared to January 2022.
The biggest increase in imports of goods in January 2023 compared to December 2022 was Mineral Fuel, which amounted to US$136.41 million (up 279.92 percent).
