Abstract

  • The combined inflation of 2 CPI cities in Southeast Sulawesi in January 2021 was recorded at -0.39 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.74.
  • Kendari City experienced a deflation of 0.24 percent while Baubau City experienced a deflation of 0.92 percent with CPI of 105.03 and 103.86, respectively.
  • Deflation occurred due to a decrease in the price index in the transportation group by 1.56 percent; clothing and footwear group 0.57 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group 0.36 percent; equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group of 0.27 percent; and the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group at 0.05 percent. Groups that experienced an increase in the index were the personal care and other services group of 0.19 percent; health group 0.12 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group at 0.01 percent and the information, communication and financial services group with 0.002 percent. Meanwhile the education group and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group did not experience any changes / were relatively stable.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation include air transport, mackerel / mackerel / banyar fish / gembolo / aso-aso fish, moringa leaves, shallots and katamba fish.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation include bird's eye chilies, flying fish, cars, fresh fish and chicken meat.
