Abstract

  • The economy of Southeast Sulawesi in the first quarter of 2020 measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp 31.55 trillion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 22.76 trillion.
  • Southeast Sulawesi's economy in the first quarter of 2020 grew 4.37 percent (y-on-y), slowing compared to the first quarter of 2019 of 6.39 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field at 9.67 percent. From the expenditure side, achieved by the Export of Goods and Services Components which grew by 25.88 percent.
  • Southeast Sulawesi's economy in the first quarter of 2020 grew minus 8.18 percent (q-to-q) lower than the previous quarter of 2.43 percent. From the production side, the decline was caused by a contraction that occurred in almost all business fields, where the largest contraction occurred in the construction business sector by minus 18.71 percent. While from the expenditure side, it was caused by a contraction in all components, with the largest contraction in the Government Consumption Component (PK-P) of minus 28.85 percent.
  • In terms of production, the fields of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries contributed the most dominant to the Southeast Sulawesi GRDP, amounting to 25.02 percent. While in terms of expenditure, the most dominant contribution occurred in the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) of 50.82 percent.
