Abstract

The Southeast Sulawesi NTP index in May 2018 was 96.76, an increase of 1.04 percent compared to the previous month's 95.76. The NTP index of each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crops Subsector (NTPP) 88.69; Horticultural Subsector (NTPH) 91.79; Plantation Crops Subsector (NTPR) 94.36; Livestock Sub-sector (NTPT) 105.6; and Fisheries Sub-sector (NTNP) 116,21. While the National NTP Index of 101.99 or rose by 0.37 percent from the previous 101.61.

In May 2018, nationally 22 provinces experienced an increase in the NTP Index, while the other 11 provinces experienced a decrease in index. The highest increase was recorded in West Sulawesi Province of 2.23 percent, while the largest decrease was recorded in Riau Province of 1.92 percent.

In May 2018, Southeast Sulawesi recorded a 0.69 percent inflation in rural areas. This is due to the increase in the price index in all household consumption groups, namely the foodstuff category rose by 1.35 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco by 0.23 percent; housing group 0.11 percent; clothing group by 0.47 percent; health group 0.17 percent; education, recreation and sports groups by 0.05 percent; and transportation and communications group rose by 0.06 percent.
