In every activity undertaken by BPS there is always tiered supervision conducted. Starting from supervision at PML level (field supervisor), District Supervision, provincial supervision as well as direct supervision by Central BPS. With this tiered supervision, BPS is expected to continue to produce quality data for the purposes of evaluation and planning undertaken by the government.

This KSA supervision was conducted in Totallang village, Lasusua sub-district. Supervision is done by going down directly to the fields to see the location of KSA point taking. In addition, supervision is also conducted how the data collection procedure conducted by BPS officers. It aims to ensure that these KSA activities are properly carried out and in accordance with standard operating procedure (SOP) set by BPS.
KSA itself is a sampling approach that uses the land area as an enumeration unit. This system is based on geographic information system technology (GIS), remote sensing, information technology, and statistics which is currently being implemented in Indonesia for the acquisition of data and information on food crop agriculture. The KSA approach is expected to respond to the provision of accurate and timely data and information to support the planning of the National Food Security Program.
This KSA activity can be realized as a result of cooperation between the Central Bureau of Statistics, and the Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology. Statistical unit (statistical unit) targeted activities to the District level, while the object of agricultural commodities of food crops is rice. Nevertheless it is still possible for expanded forward development for other food crop commodities.
The implementation of KSA 2018 was conducted simultaneously in almost all regions of Indonesia since January, as well as in North Kolaka District. North Kolaka regency which became one of the rice granaries in Southeast Sulawesi province to get a sample of 21 segments of rice fields spread from District Wawo to Sub Porehu. All of the segment samples will be collected by BPS statistic partners of North Kolaka Regency each month and directly supervised by BPS supervisor of North Kolaka District.
With the data collection by KSA method, North Kolaka food crop data is expected to be more accurate and reliable so that it can support the need for data for the government of North Kolaka District.
